The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium provides schools with an additional £500 for each Year 7 pupil who did not receive at least a level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of Key Stage 2. In 2016/17 Bamburgh School was allocated £6,375.

We continued to invest in a whole-school Direct Phonics program to provide access to 1:2:1 literacy support.
Impact of Year 7 catch up funding
100% of our Year 7 cohort made expected progress in reading.
The percentage making good/outstanding progress was 83%.
